Parachutist hits hydro pole

A parachutist managed to escape unharmed after free falling and hitting a hydro pole in Flamborough on Sunday.Police say it happened between 3PM and 4PM Sunday afternoon at Highway Five and Sydenham Road.The 36-year-old man was jumping from over 10,000 ft, but misjudged his landing and free fell for 35 seconds.There was a small fire, but the man managed to escaped without injury.He was assessed by paramedics and treated at the scene.He was reportedly associated with the company Skydive Swoop, a volunteer-run skydiving club.No one from the company could be reached for comment.
