Pretty Lights Announces 10th-Anniversary Red Rocks Run

first_imgToday, Pretty Lights Live has announced their return to the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. Slated for August 10th and 11th, the two-night run will also double as a ten-year anniversary celebration for Pretty Lights, rounding off a decade of performances at the famed venue. As Derek Vincent Smith, the mastermind behind the project, noted in a press release:I’m feeling much excitement about announcing the 10th Anniversary Pretty Lights shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on August 10 & 11, 2018. This year will be the best year yet, as we continue to gain more & more understanding about what is possible when this many people come together organized in love and music. I’m putting all my energy into these shows and they will be the only shows of the summer, possibly all year. Can’t wait to open portals to higher dimensions of consciousness with the homies in the PL Live Band: Borahm Lee, Alvin Ford Jr., Chris Karns and Brandon Butler and The Lazer Shark. Come celebrate with us! Always, the light will shine as a guide.Pretty Lights Live is a relatively new set up for Derek Vincent Smith, which sees the prolific producer joined by his live band featuring Alvin Ford Jr. (drums), Brandon Butler (keys), Borahm Lee (keys) and Chris Karns (turntables). With Pretty Lights in a constant state of evolution, Pretty Lights Live brings a more freeform aspect to their shows because of the project’s focus on group improvisation and, more or less, group jamming. The keystone to this live improvisation is “flips,” moments when Smith slowly fades out a produced track and the band takes over, switching over to a more electronic sound and moving through a completely live, improvised instrumental segment. You can snag tickets to Pretty Lights’ 10th-anniversary Red Rocks run when they go on sale to the public on Friday, April 20th at 10 a.m. (MST). Two-day general admission and VIP tickets, as well as lodging options (via CID Entertainment and Curadora) will be available via a direct-to-fan pre-sale, which starts on Wednesday, April 18th, at 10 a.m. (MST).
