Canada Games Soccer Teams Named

first_imgThirty-four young soccer players will be kickin’ it in Regina,Saskatchewan this summer at the 2005 Canada Summer Games fromAug. 6 to 20. Soccer Nova Scotia announced the men’s and women’s soccer teamsfor the Games after returning from a six-day selection camp inCamden, Maine. The teams played against the University of NewHampshire, the University of Maine, and the New Brunswick CanadaGames team. “The purpose of the trip was to engage in competition againstteams equal to the Canada Games standard,” said Mike Hudson,technical director of Soccer Nova Scotia and coach of the men’steam. “The teams fared very well and played excellent games.” Team Nova Scotia will have a maximum of 357 athletes competing in16 sports during the two weeks of the Games. They are supportedby 45 coaches, 20 managers, one boatman and 18 mission staff.Four young artists will participate in the National ArtistsProgram at the Games, bringing the team’s total to 445 NovaScotians.
